Ramon (Ray) is originally from El Paso,Texas where he grew up playing as many sports as possible; eventually, leading him into football! At age 18 Ray joined the Marine Corps where he was an Infantry Platoon Sergeant, Martial-Arts Instructor Trainer, and Formal Schools Instructor. In 2008 Ray began tapping into this thing call “CrossFit” while being a Martial-Arts instructor. Due to the nature of CrossFit workouts, he found them especially useful for training his students. It was about that same time when Ray became interested in human physiology and the body’s training adaptations to exercise. Ray has since received his undergrad in Exercise Science from the University of Houston and his master’s in Kinesiology from UT. Ray’s experience includes 10 years of training and mentoring Marines, 8-month internship with the University of Houston “Go Coogs”, is Level 1 Certified and has been coaching and programming CrossFit for 4 years while developing a supplemental strength programs(APRE). Ray is super laid back and enjoys all things Star Wars, spending time with his wife of 12 years and their fur baby Lola.
