SamSam started CrossFitting in July of this year at CrossFit & Fearless. He said he really had no idea what it was, but
he’d heard great things about it from some guys at home, and he wanted to get out of a post-college workout slump.
He tried a free class in July and was hooked. The convincing factors for Sam were the early morning classes and
their one-hour length.
Sam’s main goal with CrossFit was to gain weight, and he’s made more than 15 pounds of progress with his goal!
He’s been blown away by how quickly he’s been able to put on muscle. Sam’s favorite lift is the back squat — he’s
been able to increase in weight quickly and loves the super-sore feeling right after. His favorite WOD is the Filthy
Fifty, for its butt-kicking value. Feeling exhausted after a 7-minute AMRAP was never something Sam had expected
before starting CrossFit, but now it’s exactly what he looks for in a workout.
Sam’s favorite part of CrossFit is the community. He told us how much he loves being around people with similar
goals, and who are competitive but supportive at the same time. The coaches push you to give the WOD 100%, and
the extra kick you get from the community aspect of CrossFit makes it well worth it. Even though he’s only been
doing it for 4 months now, Sam says he absolutely expects to be CrossFitting for as long as he can walk.
